Post by Jobing - JOB TITLE: Dean of Nursing LOCATION: Phoenix DURATION: Direct Hire For over twenty years, Arizona College has been serving the metropolitan Phoenix area through high quality diploma and degree progra! ms in the allied health field, including medical assistants, pharmacy technicians, dental assistants, health information specialists and massage therapists. Most exciting, Arizona College is on the move. Through high quality student outcomes and solid financial performance and backing, the organization has opened a second campus in Mesa, and recently won approval to start a baccalaureate nursing program, with students slated to start this fall. This nursing program is going to be the flagship program for the organization, and will serve as the cornerstone of further growth plans, which include additional campuses and other high demand programs.
Position OverviewReporting to the COO, and a key member of the executive leadership team of the Company, this role is responsible for the initial launch and the successful performance of the College’s new nursing program, leading it to a level of excellence that will be recognized by students, employers, accreditors and st! ate boards of nursing, enabling future growth. Primary Account! abilities Successful Initial Program Launch • Ensure the curriculum is complete, and teachâ€"ready. • Hire and train an exceptional faculty team. • Map curriculum to the total testing package and finalize text book selections.
- Assist with development and implementation of admissions criteria. • Ensure supplies, equipment and other teaching materials are in place and ready for teach. Manage Nursing Program • Manage, assess and continually evolve curriculum to ensure contemporary, employerâ€"driven content and exceptional learning/student outcomes. • Assess, develop, train and manage faculty and staff to ensure high performance.
- Ensure high levels of retention, graduation and employment rates through overall program quality control and effective management oversight. • Manage department budget and expenses in line with plan, ensure that program supplies and materials are on hand as required. • Manage clinical sites to ensure successf! ul twoâ€"way relationships and outcomes are achieved. Executive Team Membership • Serve as an active member of the College’s executive leadership team, by building strong relationships, participating on College wide strategy development/execution and helping build an overall culture and leadership impact that is positive and impactful.
- Create a nursing program that will lend itself to successful expansion inside and outside of Arizona. Regulatory & Compliance • Ensure that program meets accreditation, State Board of Nursing and all other regulatory requirements. • Develop and maintain very strong relationships with the State Board of Nursing (and other regulatory officials), ensuring that our program and people are consistently exceeding their expectations. • Ensure that knowledge and processes are in place to ensure that the program and faculty/staff operate with a strong culture of compliance and ethical behavior and practices Required Knowledge, Skills! & Competencies • Master’s degree in nursing (or closely related) r! equired, PhD is preferred.
- Significant previous experience in both clinical and nurse education strongly preferred. • Expertise in curriculum development and management. • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment, and experience with state boards of nursing, accreditation reviews/approval processes, etc. • Strategic thinker who deals with ambiguity comfortably.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of hiring “A†players and developing outstanding teams. • Collaborative, team oriented leader who is very results focused. • Strong business acumen. • A track record of creating/developing nursing programs with outstanding outcomes.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment, and experience with state boards of nursing, accreditation reviews/approval processes, etc. • Strategic thinker who deals with ambiguity comfortably. • Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of hiring “A†players and developing outstanding teams. • Collaborative, team oriented leader who is very results focused.
