Under general direction from the Manager IT Applications, the Senior Clinical Systems Analyst II works with others to formulate and define sys! tems scope and objectives based on user needs. Maintains a good understanding of Industry requirements and applicable clinical systems, including those that process confidential patient, quality improvement, and peer review data that is protected by federal and/or state law.
Works with others to devise or modify procedures such as application functionality, system limitations, or cost-effective desired results. Provides analysis of clinical, business, and user needs, regulatory requirements, documentation requirements.
Translates those requirements into proper system requirement specifications suitable for the application builders.
This position is responsible for the design of clinical information solutions including clinical and nursing applications to enable the delivery of safe, effective, and high quality patient care.
May lead information technology deployment and optimization efforts based on the organization’s clinical performan! ce improvement objectives.
Provides clinical subject ! matter expertise to translate data into information and actionable knowledge in the daily nursing or clinical applications practice.
May serve as a liaison between Patient Care and Clinical Technologies to assist in the design, development, maintenance, training and evaluation of assigned clinical and business systems to support the care of patients.
Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
Must have at least one to two (1-2) years of progressively responsible experience in deployment or implementation of clinical application systems, or a related field with a strong foundation in design, analysis, and evaluation; and one (1) years experience providing application support and professional services in the healthcare industry supporting or imp! lementing clinical information, EMR, or large-scale ERP systems.
Certification in multiple Epic applications will substitute up to two (2) years of required experience.
Training will be available to complete and maintain application certification requirements.
Must possess a current, valid Arizona RN license and be in good standing with the AZ Board of Nursing.
Certification in Epic Application is required and must be kept up to date with application/system installed.
In addition, if certification is substituting for years of experience then must have and keep up to date certification in two or more Epic Applications.
Must maintain a current knowledge of trends and issues in health care, nursing practice, healthcare informatics, Joint commission standards; Organizational policies and procedures related to clinical practice and the legal implications of the clinical information system; Clinical applications currently in u! se and their relationship to other organizational information systems. !
Must have demonstrated knowledge of clinical operation areas of the application supported with training and/or experience in specific clinical or business area. Must have a good understanding of healthcare industry requirements.
Must have proven experience in implementing, designing, building, and supporting clinical and/or business applications in a healthcare environment utilizing current technology.
Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling & punctuation. Must possess solid analytical skills that can translate the analysis into effective troubleshooting and problem resolution, frequently exercising independent technical judgment.
Must provide clinical subject matter expertise to translate user requirements into actionable project tasks, duties and responsibilities.
Must be able to integrate technology with nursing, clinical and provider ! requirements.
Must be able to investigate and recommend custom application requirements including screen design, report specifications, dictionary maintenance, and security requirements. Ability to simultaneously support multiple applications.
Must be able to complete workflow review and recommend application workflow processes based on previous experience. Must maintain a positive and open attitude to change.
Must have proven ability to work with nursing, clinical providers, and business professionals. Must display competence in understanding phases of implementation projects and ability to translate complex user requirements into proper system requirements specifications and actionable tasks. Ability to exercise considerable individual judgment and initiative in conducting the necessary facilitation and resolution of application/system design. Ability to develop initiatives in innovative manner for effective resolution. Ability to prepare and co! nduct effective presentations. Ability to communicate clearly and effec! tively, both verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Ability to assess priorities and self time manage through deliverables.
