The Laboratory Clinical Leader is accountable for activities classified within the broad categories of design, implem! entation, testing and validation, and training toward the deployment of CHW's Electronic Health Record System. This position leads the Laboratory design and transformation teams. The decisions and actions of these teams will insure that the applications and interfaces are designed and implemented based on valid standards and in accordance with sound clinical practice. The Lead is responsible for assigning activities, oversees and, when necessary, assists staff and team members in accomplishing the activities necessary to implement the module(s) applicable to the department (e.g., deciding on module parameters, designing and completing dictionaries, analyzing and refining departmental operating policies and procedures in light of automation, defining and assigning menus', planning for and conducting training and software testing). Identifies and assists in the resolution of issues that may arise within the department relating to the satisfactory operation of the module(s) bo! th during and after installation.
This position re! quires:
- Bachelorâs degree or equivalent professional experience required.
- Bachelorâs degree in Nursing or other applicable clinical discipline.
- 7 years of IT experience in a healthcare environment.
- 7 years of leadership experience. Experience leading and managing teams of 25 . ⢠Experience with various clinical systems such as; Meditech, Cerner, PACS (DR, Emageon, McKesson and GE), McKesson Surgery, and Sunquest Lab.
- Extensive knowledge of various IT applications.
- Excellent knowledge of healthcare-related software applications.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage up, down and across levels of the organization.
- Ability to create, manage and enhance customer and vendor relationships.
- Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to work in a complex and matrixed team environment; experience working in a ! team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule, and meet deadlines.
- Skills in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Identification with and support of the Mission and Values of Dignity Health and its Sponsors.
- Understands and employs fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures relating to systems analysis and design.
- Strong understanding of process redesign including documentation of current state IT and Business processes. Ability to facilitate future state workshops with end users.
- Knowledge of business operations and in-house business systems required.
- Ability to understand IT projects and concepts as they relate to high-level business objectives, and ability to present those concepts to both IT and non-IT audiences in a concise and easily understandable manner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- P! roven abilities in problem management, process analysis and root cause ! analysis.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for information gathering and the ability to interact with various client groups.
- Ability to work in a complex and matrixed team environment.
