Receives, prepares, stores, & refers patient specimens to all sections of the pathology laboratory for testing. Acces! sions Clinical Pathology specimens into Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) with appropriate attention to Hospital Information System (HIS) requirements for assigning lab visits. Provides client support regarding the status of specimens and results and acts as a resource to all levels of medical, nursing and technical personnel throughout The University of Arizona Health Network.
Required Qualifications:
Understanding of medical terminology, computer and data entry skills with knowledge of MS Windows, Office, E-mail, and Internet, multi-line phone skills and customer service experience in a laboratory or related medical field. A Professional, courteous, and positive attitude. Attentive to detail, organized, capable of handling multiple assignments, working with limited direction, and demonstrated initiative. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in Allied Health Care o! r two years of clinical laboratory experience. Misys Healthcar! e system experience.
