CLINICAL INFORMATICS ANALYST
Oversees, supports, and provides expertise in the ongoing development, implement! ation, maintenance and training of new and existing BNA clinical informatics systems. Participates in process planning and support for clinical reporting requirements. Manages clinical informatics support staff. Works collaboratively with the Di rector of Clinical Operations, the Director of Information Systems , the administrative team and other stakeholders to identify, validate, analyze and address any requirements for change in process, policies, or information systems.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Education of staff and providers
- Develops educational tools for all clinical informatics applications to be us ed for new employee orientation and ongoing staff education .
- Develops and provides training programs and tools for any newly implemented clinical information technology applications.
- Provides direct support to providers and staff in the use of the clinical information systems.
- Conducts one-on-one and sma! ll group training for staff and providers.
- Anticipates and resolves routine and critical issues that arise related to existing and future clinical informatics applicati ons.
- Provides input to enhance system functionality and to meet user needs.
- Provides direct support and troubleshooting of issues to staff, providers and patients.
- V isits satellite offices to address educational and support needs.
- Tracks, monitors and enhances use of systems by users.
- Updates and maintains data stored in the clinical informatics applications as well as user profiles.
- Assesses ongoing staff educational needs and develops and implements training plans to address deficiencies.
- Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Operations and the Director of Information Systems to optimize current and future clinical information systems.
- Participates in ongoing development and customization of ! the clinical information applications to meet the needs of providers and staff and to ensure compliance with clinical reporting requirements.
- Participates in the development , testing and maintenance of customized forms, templates and encounters for all clinical applications .
- Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
- Serves as project manager for small to medium sized system implementations, upgrades, or changes.
- Serves as a liaison between BNA and hospital clinical informatics personnel.
- Manages clinical informatics support staff.
- Evaluates effectiveness of all educational programs .
- Evaluates and identifies ongoing educational needs of staff to optimize use of the clinical information systems
- Assists with monitoring compliance with clinical reporting requirements such as meaningful use through report developm! ent , monitoring, and analysis. Reports results to the Director of Clin! ical Operations.
- Communicates user needs and requests to the Director of Clinical Operations and the Director of Information Systems for follow up and planning.
- Assists with the development and distribution of communication to staff and providers regarding planned downtimes, target dates, system changes, etc.
- Communicates directly with ACES support for assistance with system issues that are not able to be resolved internally.
Required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Healthcare Informatics or Information Technology .
- Experience in project management as it relates to physician and allied health information systems, patient access, patient care, and clinical reporting.
- Knowledge of healthcare-related software applications.
- Strong understanding of process development and redesign.
- Understanding of provider and staff needs, practice ! patterns , and clinical workflows.
- Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot , and isolate complex problems.
- High degree of self motivation and able to follow through on tasks without supervision .
- Highly organized with ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Ability to think “outside of the box†to create solutions.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent oral, written & telephone communication, along with tact and diplomacy.
- Maintains effective working relationships with providers, staff, and administration
- Experience with Centricity PM and EHR systems.
- Experience with Kryptiq patient portal system.
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, or Business Administration or combination of education and/or additional job related experience.
- Graduation from an accr! edited healthcare program with clinical practice such as Nursing. !
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a licensed clinician with experience in an outpatient or private practice setting.
- Experience in the specialty practice of Neurosciences.
- Certification/Degree in Clinical Patient Informatics .
