Immediate need for a part-time, traditional campus Theatre Education Supervisor for undergraduate stu! dent teachers. The university supervisor serves as the collegi! al liaison between the university and the cooperating schools. This position will work directly with the director of the theatre education program to learn course content and philosophy and mentoring student teachers to become effective theatre educators
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
The ability to travel to a location in Phoenix, AZ
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the cooperating schools and/or districts.
Maintain effective communication with the Cooperating Teachers.
Act as a resource person to the Teacher Candidates by providing additional sources of information and by being available through phone or mandatory weekly email personal contact, and cooperatively deriving workable solutions if difficulties arise.
Provide information on the development and implementation of future professional plans.
Encourage responsibility and creativity in the stud! ent teaching experience.
Keep adequate records on the Teacher Candidates
Provide knowledge about evaluation procedures.
Create and maintain a professional, friendly relationship with the Teacher Candidates and the Cooperating Teachers.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years full-time theatre teaching experience in a public or private K-12 school.
Expertise in positive classroom management
Curriculum design
All aspects of teaching a comprehensive, engaging theatre program to diverse students
Current Arizona teaching certification in Dramatic Arts for elementary, secondary, or K-12 grades in the state of Arizona
