Responsible for plant management and maintenance grid for planning and directing the maintenance and repair of major plant equipment, building and grounds. Also responsible for construction on existing facilities, gardening and grounds maintenance and for Safety Officer duties.
Representative Functions or Duties:
- Establi! shes policies, procedures, programs and budgets to assure effe! ctive maintenance of the physical plant in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Represents facility with state and local officials for compliance with building regulations.
- Plans, schedules and oversees major repair, remodeling and construction projects.
- Assures maintenance of equipment.
- Directs distribution of steam, power, gas and other utilities; assures proper waste disposal and energy conservation.
- Directs services provided by outside contractors and vendors.
- Manages a staff in support of these responsibilities.
- Serve as the hospital's Safety Officer.
- Twenty (20) years of plant operations experience in the healthcare industry in all aspects of facilities management, safety and disaster preparedness and regulatory compliance.
- Extensive knowledge and skills in electrical engineering, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, painting and gro! unds keeping.
- Certifications and training related to:
- Healthcare Safety
- Building Operations
- maintaining emergency generators and power distribution systems
- electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry
- chillers, cooling towers, related pumps, motors and boilers
- backup water systems
- Hazard Control Management
- Hazwhopper
- Nurse Call Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Emergency Response Team Training
- Tuberculosis Control & Isolation Room Ventilation
