We are currently hiring for the following positions:

Tissue Recovery Coordinator I -Tissue Recovery Services:

As a Tissue Recovery Coordinator I (TRC I) you will need to be available to assist the Lead Tissue Recovery Coordinator, Tissue Recovery Supervisor, and other team members with donor activity. TheTRC I shall perform tissue recovery procedures according to protocol, perform blood sample collections, and maintain a clean, safe operating room environment. The TRC I shall also perform other duties as requested to get the job done.

Current Shift Needs:

  • 2200-0600
  • Flexible schedule- Must be able to work outside of normal business hours including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours
  • In-state travel required, by automobile, sometimes alone, sometimes with a surgical team

Skills:

Tissue Recovery Technician I-Tissue Services Department:

Donor Network of Arizona is seeking a Tissue Recovery Technician (TRT). As a Tissue Recovery Technician you will be assisting the Lead Tissue Recovery Technician and other team members with donor activity. The Tissue Recovery Technician shall perform tissue recovery procedures according to protocol, perform blood sample collections as requested, and maintain a clean, safe operating ro om environment. The TRT shall also perform other duties such as prep, pack, restore and assist as requested.
Current position needs are:
  • Shift needs are 10pm-6am
  • Ability to work 8 hour shifts 5 days a week. No set days off
  • 4 weekend shifts required a month
  • Some out of town travel associated
  • Hourly position with potential for overtime

Tissue Recovery Technician II -Tissue Services:

As a Tissue Recovery Technician II you must be available to assist other members of the Tissue Recovery team with donor activity. The TRT II shall perform tissue recovery procedures according to protocol and policy, as well as, maintain a clean, safe operating room environment. The TRT II will also perform other duties as requested by the manager or other members of the recovery team.

Current position needs are:

  • Shift needs are 10pm-6am (2200-0600)
  • Ability to work 8 hour shifts 5 days a week. No set days off
  • 4 weekend shifts required a month
  • Some out of town travel associated
  • Hourly position with potential for overtime

Organ Referral Preservation Coordinator Supervisor-Organ Services Department:

The organ referral preservation coordinator supervisor (ORPCS) assists the manager of organ recovery services in facilitating in the day-to-day operations of the organ referral preservation coordinator (ORPC) team. The supervisor will assist in the daily supervision, training and performance evaluation of the OPRCs. This position is responsible for leading the ORPC staff in efforts to maximize donation and organs transplanted per donor.

The supervisor is also responsible for assisting the Clinical Nurse Educator with developing and implementing all aspects of the ORPC staff training and continued professional development. This includes, but is not limited to, onboarding, didactic and clinical training, revising training materials, and coordinating training activities of new ORPCs and continuing education activities.

The supervisor is also responsible for the duties of the Organ Referral Preservation Coordinator level I- IV. This includes roles and responsibilities related to directing, overseeing, implementing, and maximizing organ referrals, imports, allocation, referral intake, oversees living-related donation coordination, and preservation process, medical research and education. ORPCS is also responsible for monitoring, maintaining the call schedule, including PTO requests with the Manger of Organ Recovery Services. The ORPCS is responsible for maintaining all clinical staff’s TransNe t training.

Responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that reflects DNA’s comprehensive/full-service approach to donation by participating and cooperating with other department supervisors/ managers. The Organ Referral Preservation Coordinator Supervisor will also be responsible for performing other duties as requested.

Requirements:

  • Minimum: High school diploma. ORPC for at least 5 years (including field experience as an organ recovery preservation coordinator, referral responder, referral intake, and imports), at least 2 years of primary precepting, at least 2 years as a Certified Transplant Preservationist (CPT) or CPTC. Candidates must demonstrate experience in excellent verbal and written communications skills, impactful presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) or Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP)
  • Preferred: Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s d egree in an applicable field. Experience in strategic planning of short term and long-term staff development, educational goals, and knowledge transfer. Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining training systems, and most importantly â€" coaching and developing others to improve their clinical practice.

Organ Referral/Preservation Coordinator-Organ Services Department:

As an Organ Referral/Preservation Coordinator you may play a dual role and be responsible for maximizing the organ referral and evaluation process in collaboration with the advisor on call (AOC), organ recovery coordinator (ORC), donation and family advocate (DFA), hospital staff, physicians, and medical director as needed. Primary role will be in organ allocation/referral responder.

The ORPC is responsible for responding to heart beating ventilated referrals, assessing organ donor suitability, and enhancing the donation process. The ORPC is responsible for maintaining donor records, assisting hospital development with post-donor hospital communication, providing donor family support, and communication in conjunction with donor family advocate services.

For potential organ donors, the ORPC is responsible for facilitating family approach regarding donation and obtaining informed consent, in collaboration with the ORC and DFA staff if available, as well as performing the medical and social history interview. Also, informing the donor family of donor designation and providing support to the family to proceed with the donor’s wishes. This includes collaborating with hospital staff to determine appropriate timing for family counseling and approach.

The ORPC may also be responsible for the procurement, preservation and packaging of cadaveric organs in the operating room on heart beating and asystolic donors. Performs pre-rec overy lymph node biopsies on cadaveric organ donors. Conducts machine preservation of kidneys taken from asystolic donors.

  • Operating room / Surgical scrub or medical field/medical terminology field
  • 2 â€' 3 Years surgical experience
  • 1 year experience in the medical field/medical terminology or new graduate RN.
  • Shares 24-hour “on-call” responsibility on a rotating basis with other organ recovery coordinators.
  • Responds within the established timeframe to potential donor referrals.

Organ Recovery Supervisor-Organ Services Department:

As the Organ Recovery Supervisor you will assist the Manager of Organ Recovery Services in facilitating in the day-to-day operati ons of the organ recovery department, primarily focusing on the organ recovery coordinators (ORCs). The supervisor will assist in the daily supervision, training and performance evaluation of the ORCs. This position is responsible for leading the clinical staff in efforts to maximize donation and organs transplanted per donor.

The supervisor is also responsible for assisting the Clinical Nurse Educator with developing and implementing all aspects of the organ recovery clinical staff training and continued professional development. This includes, but not limited to, onboarding, didactic and clinical training, revising training materials, and coordinating training activities of new ORCs and continuing education activities.

The supervisor is also responsible for the duties of the Organ Recovery Coordinator, level I, II, III and IV. This includes roles and responsibilities related to directing, overseeing, implementing, and maximizing the organ donation and procu rement process, donor evaluation, donation approach, organ allocation, and surgical recovery of organs and tissues for transplantation, medical research and education, as well as the AOC role.

EXPECTATIONS:

Communicates and guides next of kin family members providing information about the gift of donation immediately after the loss of a loved one.

As an Ocular Recovery Technician I (ORT I) all essential functions are performed under the supervision of a designated ocular trainer. With supervision, the ORT I will be responsible for the medical suitability screening, recovery of ocular tissue for transplant and / or research, laboratory cleaning, equipment maintenance and participating in continuing education. The ORT I will also perform other duties as requested. All responsibilities should be performed within the scope of Food and Drug Administration guidelines, Eye Bank Association of American Medical Standards and Donor Network of Arizona’s departmental standard operating procedures as well as DNA’s mission, vision and core values.
