Registered Nurse (RN)
While reporting to the Access Center Administrator, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care to patients undergoing interventional and surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
Provide pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care to patients per physician's orders Ensure informed consent has been received from patient prior to procedures and administering sedation Administers pre, intra and post-operative medications Administers IV therapy and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures Facilitate flow of patients through the Center Complete timely patient assessments for potential problems with patency and other indicators of dialysis access Maintain accurate and complete medical records in the computer system Provide patient education and instructions on post-operative and home care: documents patient's understanding Perform daily and monthly inventory and emergency equipment checks Maintain infection log book Assist with maintaining adequate supply and medication inventory Comply with OSHA and HIPAA standards/regulations and QA/Safety Program Qualifications:
- Current AZ RN license
- Current certification in Basic Life Support
- ACLS certification
- 2+ years acute care or critical care experience preferred
- Experience with Conscious Sedation required
- Competency and knowledge in aseptic techniques, surgical scrub skills and sterilization processes required.
- Ability to use the following equipment: cardiac monitor, oxygen, stethoscope, emergency equipment, and computer.
