Public Health Nurse

Nature of Work: Under supervision of the Director of Nursing performs Public Health nursing of all types with a high degree of skill. Performs related duties as required.
Typical Duties: Provides administrative and technical supervision of Public Health nursing. Maintains a quality of patient care; evaluates patients to ensure appropriate care. Assesses health needs of the community. Performs complex nursing practices and procedures; participates in clinical services to the community; provides Public Health education. May act as alternate Supervising Nurse; provide in service training and other training as needed; may represent Greenlee County Health Department at meetings/workshops.
Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and two years of experience or equivalent; on of which is in Public Health.
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Good knowledge of available community health programs; supervisory principles. Considerable knowledge of community health nursing practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other agencies, clients and the general public. Skill in providing skilled nursing care and prevention services; supervising subordinates; preparing accurate complex reports; communicating well orally and in writing.
Special Qualifications: Possession of a current license as a Registered Nurse issues by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. Current CPR certificate. Valid Arizona drivers license. Ability to travel. Bilingual capability desirable.
Organization Description:
Greenlee County is currently accepting applications for a Public Health Nurse in the Health Department. $18.24-25.67 hourly DOE â€" nonexempt. Minimum requirements: 1. Arizona Registered Nurse certification; 2. Two years experience or equivalent in Public Health; 3. Ability to administer to incarcerated individuals at the Sheriffs Office; 4. Current employment application on file at the Greenlee County Board of Supervisors Office.
