Job Description for Oncology Nurses:
The Oncology nurse’s duties will vary from the intensive care focus of bone marrow transplantation to the community focus of cancer screening, detection, and prevention. The Oncology nurse will also participate in nursing research studies, consult and educate patients, and perform executive functions. In addition, the job of the oncology RN may involve data collection, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
