The Pinal County Extension Office seeks a full-time Health Educator based in Casa Grande and serving Pinal County, which includes the following: Casa Grande, Arizona City, Eloy, Toltec, Maricopa, Sta! nfield, Picacho Peak, and Gila River Indian Community. The selected candidate will work under the direction of the Family, Consumer & Health Agent to manage activities and functions of the Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC) program to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with the Arizona Early Childhood Development and Health Board (First Things First) including priorities, time limitations, and methodology.
This position provides Child Care Health consultations to child care centers and private homes; and works in coordination with the Arizona Early Childhood Development and Health Board (First Things First), the Arizona Board of Regents, and the University of Arizona on behalf of the County Cooperative Extension. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance and technical assistance to child care providers on a wide range of health and safety topics. This position will provide training and appropriate resources to assist the ch! ild care provider in successful inclusion of children with spe! cial health and/or behavior needs. The Health Educator will work as part of a team to develop educational materials which are appropriate for their audience. The successful candidate will be REQUIRED to attend the training series and obtain the CCHC certification (training dates are August 28 & 29 and September 23-25, 2013).
THIS POSITION IS BASED AT THE PINAL COUNTY COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SATELLITE OFFICE IN CASA GRANDE, AZ. The incumbent may be required to travel state wide. Must be able to work some weekends and weeknights as needed.
Selected candidate must possess reliable transportation with the proper insurance and Arizona registration. And a valid Arizona driver's license on the first day of employment, as local travel will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides health consultation services to child care providers per the CCHC goals and objectives.
- Recruits program participants, members, and volunteers
- Develops, compiles, and distributes communications and promotional literature.
- Develops and facilitates workshops, meetings, or conferences.
- Assists in development and implementation of program goals and objectives.
- Assists with needs assessments and analysis for basis of program development.
- Confers with staff, students, and others on technical advice, problem solving assistance, and answers to questions regarding program goals and policy interpretations.
- Evaluates program effectiveness for development and implementation of improved methods.
- Assists in preparation of reports and program records for management or outside agencies as needed! .
- Contributes to the Cooperative Extension web page.
- ! Interacts with students, faculty, staff, and community agencies in facilitating program objectives.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Health Education or related field AND two years of health education experience; OR, six years of health education experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Additional Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess reliable transportation with the proper insurance and Arizona registration and a valid Arizona driver's license on the first day of employment.
- Must be able to work some weekends and weeknights as needed.
- Master's degree in a health related field.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current Arizona license, or Advanced Practice Nurse with a current Arizona license and certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse! (APN), or Physicians Assistant with a current Arizona license, or a Physician licensed to practice in the State of Arizona.
- Experience providing expert guidance and technical assistance to child care providers on a wide range of health and safety topics.
- Proven ability to collect, synthesize, and disseminate research based information to appropriate audience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
- Experience in childcare settings.
- Experience using Doodle, Microsoft Office, CareFacts, or other computer-based reporting systems.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Reside in Pinal County.
