Primarily responsible for providing medical care to Canyon Ranch guests with the utmost of customer service in mind. Provides clinical assessment, diagnostic testing, and treatment recommendations. Al! so provides guest and staff education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct medical services to Canyon Ranch guests. Provide patient diagnosis and treatment aimed at alleviating or preventing illness and/or injury. Scope of work includes adult care, lifestyle and integrative medicine, preventive care, chronic illness and disease management, minor procedures, and all other areas of family medicine or internal medicine. Participates in interdepartmental medical consultation and education as requested and advises nursing staff of appropriate response to patient phone calls. Serve as liaison with the local medical community and initiate appropriate specialty referrals.
- Participate in the development of medical services, including protocols, standard procedures, and management of patient care related activities.
- Record patient chart entries in Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) format and complete ap! propriate documentation necessary for data and billing departm! ent.
- Develops and provides educational, value added presentations and lectures to the Canyon Ranch guest population.
Participates in on call rotation with other Canyon Ranch physicians and accepts responsibility to see Canyon Ranch guests after hours as needed.
Participates in established committees and education forums as needed.
Insures the safety of the environment and bring any potential safety issues to the attention of the medical director and executive director, health and healing.
Researches clinical data to support Canyon Ranch position and/or philosophy on clinical care provided to guests.
Writes, review, and edits content for Canyon Ranch as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Required board certified M.D. from an accredited medical school.
- Required medical background should be in a suitable field of spec! ialty (i.e. Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Preventive Medicine).
- Preferred training and experience in Integrative Medicine.
- Required current Arizona medical license without sanctions or limitations.
- Required ACLS certification and renewed per requirements.
- Required current DEA license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing as a physician.
Must possess strong clinical skills and be experienced in providing medical care to a large, diverse group of patients.
Must have an understanding of and an appreciation for complementary and alternative healing modalities.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
