The State Board of Nursing assures that standards of practice are met and that persons engaged in the practice of nursing are competent. It approves individuals for licensure, registration and certification, approves educational programs for nurses and nursing assistants, and investigates complaints concerning licensee's compliance with the law. They are currently looking for a Nurse Practice Consultant to join their team!
POSITION DETAILS:
Nurse Practice Consultant position for the Investigation Department of the Az State Board of Nursing. Requires an active and good standing RN license and a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.**
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
KNOWLEDGE:
- This position conducts investigations of Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LPNs and applicants for licensure and for whom a complaint has been received/reported.
- Requires knowledge of nursing standards of care, knowledge and applicability of the Nurse Practice Act and other healthcare related statutes and regulations, knowledge of the methods, techniques/principles for conducting investigations, interviewing and writing investigative reports.
- Skill in extracting and analyzing information from statutes, legal documents, evaluations, healthcare and employment related records
- Skill in interviewing and eliciting information in an investigation
- Skill in written communications
- Skill in interpersonal relations, as applied to interaction with respondents, complainants, employers, other state boards of nursing and co-workers
- Skill in organization, prioritization, and follow through
- Ability to work well with others; prioritize, plan, analyze, coordinate and manage a case load
- Ability to maintain objectivity
- Ability to produce timely and accurate reports and documentation
- Abilities in computer operation, and in presenting cases in a Board meeting or hearing
