Primary Accountabilities

  • Serves as a full-time faculty teaching within the program curricula for associate, undergraduate, and graduate classes in respective college.
  • Responds, investigates and resolves faculty and student issues in conjunction with University policies and procedures. Maintains a positive relationship with students and faculty by ensuring customer satisfaction with issue resolution.
  • Participates in the selection, orientation, and training of faculty and campus personnel. Participates in the development and implementation of program goals and objectives.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships by serving as a program resource for division staff, faculty, and students, as well as a liaison to corporate academic affairs staff.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of goal! s, objectives, policies, and procedures as they relate to the ! training and development of faculty throughout the campus and/or division personnel as it relates to faculty scheduling and remediation activities. May also participate or lead the faculty recruitment, selection, and orientation activities as needed.
  • Oversees the faculty review process to ensure performance evaluations provide feedback to faculty and campus and/or division staff. Coordinates and reviews remediation plans, as well as discharging faculty who do not meet performance expectations.
  • Participates and may lead task forces and may lead task forces and committees, including co-sharing Academic Program Council, to represent and address academic concerns to campus management team and/or central administration. This may include participating in the planning, implementation, and coordination of campus and/or regional activities to maximize service quality effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Assists central administration academic affairs personnel, i! ncluding the Dean from respective program(s), in the development and review of curriculum as needed or requested.
  • Maintains a professional and technical knowledge of the curricula by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, and developing an annual personal research agenda that includes publication or presentation to a larger academic community. This includes maintaining a general knowledge of emerging issues and trends related to the respective Academic Affairs program(s).
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in a Health Care discipline required.
  • Terminal degree in respective academic program or related field required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' significant experience teaching or administration at a college/university level.
  • Minimum two (2) years post-doctoral experience required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year in a field related to the content of the academic program
  • A minimum of one (1) year as a Qualitative and or Quantitative Researcher
Additional Qualifications:
  • PhD degree in Nursing strongly preferred
  • Experience in teaching and/or administration at a regionally accredited college or university preferred.
  • Familiarity with adult education experience preferred. Experience with doctoral-level education preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level o! f problem solving and decision-making abilities to respond to student issues and concerns, evaluate students for retention, assess student work and abilities, and to facilitate the doctoral learning experience.
  • Must possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies, including students, faculty, employees, and external parties.
  • Must possess the ability to convey a professional image, as well as effectively represent the organization as appropriate in its relationship with the community
